The Weekly Search Plan for People Who Are Already Busy

You do not need a free month. You need a week you can repeat between pickup and dinner: five roles, two tailored applications, one profile pass, and a Friday note.

Being told to network harder does not fit in a week that already has a job, children, or both. Motivation is a bad plan. A calendar is a good one. The search is how you get to a salary you control and a day that includes your people. It has to be small enough to survive a Tuesday.

Monday, 45 minutes. Choose five open roles from search that match two titles you already picked. Discard any that hide the work, require US work authorization you do not have, or ask for payment.

Tuesday and Wednesday, one hour each. Tailor one application a day. Change the summary and the bullets that match that description. The method is how to tailor your resume to a job description.

Thursday, 30 minutes. LinkedIn only: headline, About, and the last role, aligned with those two titles. Put your country. The headline is the job you want this month, not "passionate parent seeking opportunities." Your children are why the remote setup matters. They are not the headline. The checklist is LinkedIn for remote jobs. LinkedIn optimizer is a draft to edit, not a profile to publish untouched.

Friday, 20 minutes. Write what you sent and any reply. If nothing replied, do not add volume next week until the resume matches the roles.

If you have energy left, send one specific message to a person who does the job. A question about the work. No ask for a referral in the first note.

When two weeks produce nothing

Change the resume before you change the volume. Open the last three descriptions and highlight the nouns you do not use. If they say Salesforce and you say CRM, the screen is allowed to miss you. Use the real tool name when you have used it.

If the nouns match and there are still no replies, the titles may be wrong. Read five descriptions without applying. If you would not know what to do on Tuesday, stop. Support, onboarding, and implementation sit next to each other and are not the same search.

Do not run a second strategy in the same week. One change, then five more tailored applications, then look again. A search you can repeat is the one that still exists after a sick day.
